A junior at Walton High School with a deep passion for computer science and artificial intelligence. Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working with Sera Trust to bring innovative technology solutions to life. From redesigning their website and integrating donation forms to implementing a barcode scanner for event management, I’ve focused on making their operations smoother and more efficient. My latest project—integrating an AI-powered chatbot—has been the most exciting, as it’s transformed how the organization connects with its community. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see how technology can amplify impact and create real, positive change in people’s lives."
My Journey With Sera Trust: Transforming Ideas Into Reality
When I first heard about Sera Trust and the incredible work they do, I was inspired to contribute in my own way. I wanted to help them reach more people and share their mission effectively. That’s when the idea of integrating a chatbot into their website came to me. It wasn’t just about technology—it was about making sure anyone who visited their site felt welcome and found the answers they needed, easily and quickly.
As Swami Vivekananda once said, “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.” His words reminded me that creating impact requires persistence. For me, that meant building a tool that could tirelessly guide people toward Sera Trust’s mission of service.
From Vision to Action
I began by learning what questions visitors asked most often at Sera Trust. From there, I designed the chatbot to feel like a friendly guide, sharing the heart of Sera Trust’s mission, showing people how to donate or volunteer, and giving updates on the impact of their programs in education, healthcare, and beyond.
With the essentials clear, I moved on to building and coding. My focus was on making the chatbot sound warm and approachable so that anyone visiting the site would feel welcomed and supported right from the start.
Steering Sera Trust Towards AI Innovation
It has been one of the most exciting milestones in my journey. I recognized that integrating technology wasn’t just about making processes more efficient—it was about empowering the organization to better serve its community. By introducing a chatbot to the Sera Trust website, I aimed to enhance accessibility, streamline communication, and make vital information available in real time.
The chatbot is now a cornerstone of the website, answering questions instantly, guiding donors and volunteers through their journeys, and providing updates on Sera Trust’s impactful programs. This AI-driven tool has made operations smoother, saved valuable time for the team, and fostered stronger connections with the community. For me, this project wasn’t just about implementing technology; it was about laying a foundation for future growth and innovation that will continue supporting Sera Trust's mission for years to come."
Working on this project has not only been a technical endeavor but also a deeply personal one. It has taught me the importance of combining technology with empathy to address real-world challenges. Along the way, I’ve gained valuable experience in problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, all of which have shaped me into a more thoughtful and resourceful individual. This journey with Sera Trust has been more than just a learning experience—it’s been a chance to give back to the community and create a lasting impact that I hope will inspire others to use their skills for a greater cause."
