Dr. B. Neeraja Prabhakar serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKLTSHU), where she has been instrumental in advancing horticultural education and research. Her leadership emphasizes sustainable agricultural practices, including effective seeding techniques, natural farming, and crop diversification, aiming to ensure a sustainable food future.
In June 2023, Dr. Prabhakar was appointed Chairperson of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) for the ICAR-Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research (IIOPR) in Pedavegi, Andhra Pradesh. In this role, she leads a ten-member committee dedicated to guiding research initiatives that address challenges faced by oil palm farmers nationwide. Her involvement is expected to significantly contribute to the growth and development of India's oil palm industry.

Her perspectives on these technologies were showcased at the 6th International Conference on Advances in Agriculture Technology and Allied Sciences (ICAATAS 2023) in Telangana.
