The Driving Force In Her Own Words
"I joined SERA because I refuse to stay silent while domestic violence shatters lives in the shadows-the hidden pain, the eroded selfworth, and the children learning fear instead of safety, ignites a fire in me that only action can answer. Deep compassion for every survivor who reaches out in crisis, trusting us with their vulnerability, drives me forward; I believe no one deserves to feel trapped or worthless in their own home. This work calls to my core: empathy for their isolation and shame, fierce hope for healing and justicе, and an unwavering commitment to stand beside survivors-through safety planning, empowerment, and prevention-until every relationship nurtures rather than harms."
Meghana's Role in SERA
As Domestic Violence Director at SERA, Meghana provides strategic leadership and direct oversight for our programs (serving Atlanta, California and surrounding communities), ensuring survivors receive compassionate, trauma-informed support.
She oversees emergency shelter, crisis hotline, advocacy, case management, safety planning, support groups, and transitional housing. She supervises staff, manages budgets and grants, ensures compliance, evaluates programs with survivor input, builds local partnerships for coordinated response and advocacy, and promotes prevention education and awareness.
Through this role, she empowers survivors, interrupts cycles of violence, and advances SERA's mission of safety, healing, and justice in our communities.
Fun Fact: When she's not working to create positive change, she enjoys playing with her twins, cooking and undertaking DIY projects.
